Image of Chuck as Old West Sheriff

Welcome to C. Roberts, Art that emulates the past. Our business is changing since the death of our co-founder. This site will be a tribute to Chuck's unique talent and personality. Cindy will be sharing some behind-the-scenes "Chuck" stories and hope you will, too. We're considering hosting a forum for comments about Chuck and his work. Another suggestion is selling our vintage catalogs, posters and photographs as souvenirs. Cindy already sells note cards of Chuck's work so we will probably add that when the shopping cart is set up. If there is information or features you'd like to see on the site, please let us know. Cindy has appreciated hearing from so many friends and customers!

Chuck primarily made Rifleman's Presentation Pipe Tomahawks, California Spurs and Bits, Price Daggers, and Sheffield-Style Bowie Knives. His spur straps were amazing and got as much attention as his exquisite spur sets. Chuck and Cindy have been selling to collectors all over the world since 1983. All styles have been researched to ensure historic authenticity.

Many believe that Chuck was one of the best contemporary makers of authentic Western gear and English bowies. His award-winning work has appeared in numerous magazines. He made the spurs worn by Kurt Russell in the classic western movie, "Tombstone." Chuck was amazed that his spurs got several prominent closeup shots in one of the best westerns of all time. Cindy swears they would have loved the movie anyway.

Chuck's work is not usually sold beyond the original buyer, but if you get the opportunity to buy something we made and need help authenticating the piece, please contact us. Also, we are happy to introduce buyers and collectors so please let us know if you are interested in buying anything. Cindy isn't selling any of Chuck's work at this time, but she is selling several custom knives by other makers and a few, factory pocket knives.

Chuck was a colorful and polarizing character. We hope this site will eventually tell a bit more of Chuck's life story.

"CHUCK" STORIES COMING SOON:

  • How to take a deer when you're out of ammo.
  • What stopped the Compton carjackers from taking Chuck's truck.
  • How one of Lockheed's Skunkworks guys became a talented period artist.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you again soon.
